Our organization is two-fold in speaking to the public: young people in recovery & parents who have lost loved ones to addiction-related deaths. They are real-life local voices sharing their stories and experiences to help to change the perception of substance misuse and addiction.

The AinR™ speaking program is a peer-to-peer approach with a primary goal of bringing in relatable local people and, optimally, alumni of the schools.

AinR™ Parent Program features parents who have lost their children to overdose deaths. Parent Members speak alongside Recovery Members showing unity of the recovery and grieving communities working together.

School Program Presentation for 8th Grade Students as they transition to high school. Designed to help youths make good choices over the summer – a peak time for experimentation. Young people in recovery speak alongside local police, reinforcing key points, and their personal experiences at that age, to prevent substance misuse.

This program highlights how community works together to provide support. An assembly-style presentation for high school or middle school students discussing: the dangers of fentanyl - “One Pill Can Kill”, asking for help and identifying emotions, overdose awareness and prevention, addiction and the path to recovery, practicing kindness and supporting peers, The Good Samaritan Law, understanding and accessing Naloxone (Narcan), and promoting strong mental health habits.

Alumni in Recovery and The Black Poster Project have been collaborating since 2019 to bring a powerful connection of grief and recovery. Together presenting an impactful presentation, combining the experiences of individuals who have lost lives to overdose and addiction with the perspectives of speakers sharing their personal stories. Presentations are done in in Bergen County and other select areas of Northern NJ and NY.
